APS. Dr Joseph Kwabena Antwi
Executive Director
Joseph interprets Proverbs 30:7-9 simply as, “Poverty isn’t a sin, but poverty can make you sin!” From childhood, he knew how distressing poverty could be. Coming from a large deprived family, he witnessed the pressures poverty could impose on everyone. His deep commitment to fighting poverty through the savings group ministry (and any other viable means), stems from his belief that uncontrolled poverty forces Christians into unrighteousness and makes years of ministry to saints useless! He holds a Doctorate in Theology, a Masters in Missiology and a BA in French and Spanish. Joseph is married to Elizabeth and they have seven adult children (one adopted).
Elizabeth Nana Antwi
Finance & Administration Manager
From the time she accepted Jesus Christ as a child, Elizabeth has always tried to stand up for the marginalized and the vulnerable. She remembers how on a few occasions she helped less privileged friends or took them to her people to enjoy some comfort. That is still part of her life today! Before marriage, Elizabeth graduated from the University of Ghana with a BA Hons degree in French and Swahili. As a very busy pastor’s wife she found time to add a diploma in Christian Counselling and Masters in Theology. “For me”, she says, “I see ministering to the poor as fulfilling Jesus’ mission in Luke 4:18-20”.

I'm thrilled to see our programme empower churches as well as individuals with the requisite knowledge in order to overcome poverty. There's a great deal of joy being an instrument of hope to the hopeless. To God be the glory!

By pooling their resources and sharing financial knowledge, members of savings groups have gained a newfound sense of empowerment and control over their financial destinies. They have discovered the strength that lies within their collective efforts and harnessed it to overcome poverty's grip.
